....Still no update. I know. I'm sorry. I still cannot install word for some reason and despite asking my husband Monday and today, he still has not done it (and he didn't work and we weren't really doing anything, so I'm not really happy about it.) He is putting the boys to bed now and when he comes out I'm going to ask him again. I apologize.
Hey Laura,
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog since I stayed up all night one night and I loved it. I am also really liking this blog, but anyways the reason why I am commenting now is because I have a suggestion of a word editor that you can use instead of microsoft. Microsoft is really expensive and being a college student I learned about this website www.openoffice.org
I know you have a new laptop and might be worried about viruses and such but I have not any any problems with it, the program is very similar to microsoft and it's free.
Also just as a secondary comment I really enjoy reading about whats going on in your life, and I was hoping you would start a post similar to the Whatever Wednesday you had on Nothing more than apathy. Thats just something additional thats totally not mandatory but I'm sure alot of your followers would appreciate it.

If you have a gmail address (or want to make one) they have an online version of word and Excel that are free and you can import word docs straight into it. Plus, it's all saved online so you can access it from any computer.
ReplyDeletewhy dont you just copy the post from your email into blogger?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing...?
DeleteI'm guessing that she emailed the document to herself as a attachment in Word format. Without the Microsoft Word program or a program that is capable of opening Word documents, she can't just copy the post from her email and copy it here. If she had typed it out on her email or copied it from Word into her email, then yes she would be able to do what you suggested.
DeleteWhy does it matter? She will get to it when she has time...
DeleteTrying to be helpful.
DeleteYou can open word documents in google without having Microsoft Office.
ReplyDeleteI just saw these comments.(fpr some reason comments aren't being sent to my gmail so I didn't think I was getting any) If he doest get around to it tomorrow I wi ll try the things suggested! Thanks guys!
ReplyDelete(And you're right, I couldn't just copy and paste because I sent it as an attachment and I can't get to it without copying. And now the old laptop we were renting is gone so I can't just go back send myself a copied and pasted version)
but if you try to open the attachment as a google doc, you don't have to have microsoft to open it. you have the email as an attachment and then you click VIEW next to it, and it opens it as a GOOGLE DOC. not as a microsoft doc. and since you have a gmail account, this should be second nature / knowledge to you.
